Sunny Coral Lip

Coral Lip is by far my most favorite!!!  Anyone who knows me, knows this is my jam.  I own so many shades of coral, it's absurd, and I'll keep buying... It's a serious addiction for me.  I think a coral lip is gorgeous on everyone!  I feel it's the most scary option though.  Most people shy away from it because it has a reputation for being "granny-ish".  Not so!!  Coral is lively & fun!  It can be subdued or bold.  Warm or cooler.  This is a lip that looks gorgeous with brown smoky, gold smoky, or soft neutral eye shades, or a clean lid with minimal liner & mascara.  Even the palest skin can get a warm appearance wearing a coral lip, you don't have to be tan or bronze it up.  (Preconceived notion)
Liven your look with a coral lip, it's really easy to wear & beautiful.

Mani Monday

With our minds on our Anniversary & our trip to Puerto Vallarta last year, I thought I'd go with my Wedding Nail Polish.  By Terry polish in Skinny Latte.  By Terry polishes are beautiful & wear amazingly well.  They are similar to gel polishes but easier to apply & remove.  By Terry polish takes a good while to chip & discolor.  I get a good solid 8-10 days of wear without any chips.   Last year while in Mexico, the polish did not discolor til about a week of wearing & being in the sun every day, nearly all day long.  Ahhh, the thought of being poolside sipping a margarita sounds fantastic right about now.  Hope you're having a great start to a week of Thanks!!!

The Very Versatile Nude Lip

Nude Lips are so beautiful when done right.  This is probably the most popular of lip shades, as anyone & everyone can pull it off.  A nude lip shade can be worn with a smoky eye, colorful eye, simple eye, and any blush, so long as it doesn't clash.  There are so many variations of a nude lip too.  Pinky brown, warm peachy nude, soft pinky nude, beige nude, rosy nude, etc.  If you look best with warmer colors then go for a peachy nude.  Cool colors, go for soft pink or cool beige nude.
I vary between warm, super pale nudes, soft peachy browns, or pinky nudes.

November's Citrus Lane Box

November's box was pretty good.  We received a twist teether which clanks & has bright fun colors.  This is good for Penelope because she's starting to play with toys by gripping, shaking them & putting them in her mouth.  She definitely gets excited when she plays with her toys.

The Clutch from Boon was another item added.  This is for cleaning bottle nipples, paci's, and sippy cup lids in the dishwasher.  I wasn't very excited about this item, as I do not have a dishwasher.  I am the dishwasher.

A Starter Bib from Bumkins was included & is pink with birds & flowers on it.  This bib is lightweight & seems easy to clean.  It has a catch-all pocket for crumbs.  This will be a nice bib for Penelope when she eats solids.

Lip Comfort by Pur Lisse was in the box as a perk for parents.  This is a silky lip balm with no flavor or scent.  It hydrates wonderfully & feels great for quite awhile.  I prefer a balm that has a soft rose or rose mint scent or vanilla mint.  I am not a huge fan of a plain balm but know this will be great for Chicago's harsh winter months.

Four sets of address labels from TinyPrints & free shipping.  Guess where our Holiday cards are coming from!  : ) That's right, TinyPrints!  We planned on going with minted.com but I might as well embark on the special.  Tinyprints does have a lovely selection of cards.  I will be getting Thank you cards added to my order, as well.

The teether toy, bib, & TinyPrints offer were the best part of this months box.  I could've done without the lip balm & dishwasher container.  I will hold onto the dishwasher container til we have one.

I do hope December's box will be filled with more exciting items!

Mary Kay Lash Building Serum vs Neu Lash

Neu Lash can be found at nordstrom.com or BlueMercury
As some of you may know, I am a huge advocate for lash growing serums.  I used Neu Lash in the past which gave me super long lashes.  I had such long full lashes, people would ask if I was wearing fakes.  It was the beauty of Neu Lash.  Unlike Latisse, it has no harmful side effects except for a little bit of pinkness around the lash line within the first couple months of use.  When I was a Mary Kay rep, MK launched a lash growing serum, which I began using.  It maintained my long full lashes wonderfully.
When I was pregnant in my 6th month, my lashes broke down & got teeny tiny.  I was devastated & kept using my MK lash building serum.  The lashes would not grow at all.  I attribute that to my hormones, as I discovered during pregnancy this was a common thing.  About a month after having Penelope and continuing the MK lash building serum, my lashes began growing back in.  They did not get as long as Neu Lash made them, but gave a pretty length & fullness, just not quite what I was seeking.  Back to Neu Lash, my lashes are getting much fuller & longer.  I am excited to be getting them back in gear, as my lashes before Neu Lash were not short, sparse, stubby lashes.  They were acceptable to my standards, while pregnancy made them short, sparse, & stubby.
So I am attesting Neu Lash as the better lash builder, although more costly.  MK lash building serum does offer pretty length, is more affordable, & still enhances lashes.  I would hop on the Latisse wagon but do not want to change my eye color, darken my lids, or deal with a prescription getting filled.

Do you have a favorite lash building product???

Latisse is prescribed by a doctor

Mary Kay Lash Building Serum can be found from your local MK representative.

Sexy Pink Pout

Let's Talk Fushia Lip! This is a more wearable option of the bright, bold lip.  This color is bright, fun, & cheerful.  Warm or super blue toned can be beautiful with a smoky eye or simple eye.  This lip color looks best with a sheer coral, sheer pink blush, or a shimmery bronzer.  Hope you have fun with this lip color!!

Mani Monday & Recap of Last Week's Polish Julep's Coco

Happy Mani Monday!!!!  I decided to go with my all time favorite polish, Essie's Island Hopping.  I LOVE this color because it's a beautiful purply nude shade.  It works with all makeup colors & doesn't clash with any outfit.  I've noticed this shade is a little harder to find, as most Walgreens & CVS seem to no longer carry it.  I love this polish with any skin color too.  SO pretty.

Recap of last week's polish: Julep's Coco
This polish wore so wonderfully for a dark color.  It actually wore for 6 days before chipping.  Keep in mind, I am primarily a stay at home mom who cleans every day & washes dishes by hand, every single day.  So for this beautiful dark color to wear so well, means to me, it is great quality...not to mention advertised as safe for children's wear.  : )

What's in my Baby Bag??

I thought I'd go through and show what is in my baby bag.  I utilized Jessica Alba's diaper bag list from her book, Honest Living.
In Penelope's cosmetic case (aqua, pink, & green printed bag) I keep extra breast pads, small tubes of diaper cream, travel baby powder, tums, first aid essentials, baby nail files, advil, benadryl, travel lint brush, tide to go stick, boogie wipes or mustela face wipes.  The small black & white pouch contains a few bobby pins, safety pins, & my travel mani set.  In the Jansport I keep my apple & bee giraffe changing pad, Honest travel diaper wipes, Honest diapers, nursing cover, bottle, apple & bee giraffe bottle container (which keeps milk at desired temp for hours), House of Harlow sunnies, wallet (not shown), an extra set of Pippa's clothes & socks, owl hat, & a few burp cloths.  I recently ordered some really cute bibs from Etsy, a few will get added to the bag.  Penelope has been drooling like crazy and soaking her shirts, so we feel she could really use some bibs.  I love the fun prints you can find on Etsy & dwell studio.  I ordered some bibs with sugar skulls, mermaids, ballerinas, & one specifically called Penelope visits Paris, it's a pretty rose shade with the Eiffel Tower.

In the front pocket of the Jansport I keep ear buds, ear bud connector for my fancy iphone case, my inhaler, makeup bag (red with anchors) with The Balm's pressed powder & powder poof from Trish McEvoy, my lipstick of the day, owl hand mirror, & small tube of hand lotion.  In the front pocket I also keep Honest Company's spray hand sanitizer, Burt's Bees lipbalm, & a fruit & nut pack (incase we're on the go & hunger strikes), Trident, & travel pack of tissues.

If Pippa took a paci, I would have an extra paci with one of my home made paci clips & paci wipes.  After I finish the travel sizes of diaper cream, I'll have one full size tube of Honest Company's Healing Balm.  The Burt's Bees lipbalm is primarily for Jay & the advil, benadryl, tums, & first aid needs are obviously for us.  I like to be prepared for almost anything & since we share one diaper bag, this works for us.  I have been looking at other diaper bags such as Marc Jacobs & Michael Kors bags that can be suitable.  I do like a monogram option I found on PotteryBarnKids.com.  I may go with that and have Pipps initials put on for a bag she can have in the future.

Leave a comment below & let me know what you Must Have in your diaper bag & where you got your diaper bag.  : )

Wine or Oxblood Lips

Wine/Oxblood Lips are fun trend especially in fall & winter months.  The colors resonate so well with pale skin and deeper shades for fall & winter but can be worn anytime.  I love this look.  It's a bit vampy & reminds me of the 90's, although this was popular back into the 20's.  If you are not comfortable wearing red then this may be even harder to wear but again can be done with a stain to test drive.  I would follow the same guidelines as the makeup levels for red lips.  Although, I do not think this can be worn all that well with a smoky eye, unless you have the je ne sais quoi, to pull it off.  I prefer this look with a bare eye, liner, mascara, base, concealer, a very faint pink or sienna blush, a bit more of a matte face & the bold lip.  This look has such a richness to it, yet comforting & cozy.  It's a bold beautiful classic and anyone can wear it.  The shades vary from berry, deep red, brownish red, and deep cocoa.
To keep your dark or bright lip shades from feathering, apply one coat of liner, lipstick, then lightly dust a light coat of powder over lip area, then apply another coat of lipstick.

Check back next week for the fushia lip.
